| Has your hair suffered this Summer? |
Haven't the temperatures here in UK unbelievably hot this Summer? We’d have fought tooth and nail to have temperatures like this in the past - even last year!
It's ironic that we’d look over at the temperatures in our neighbouring European countries and wonder when we’d be bathing in such heat. Now however, it’s the opposite, we’re crying out for rain because the weather is becoming way too uncomfortable!
Who’d have thought that was possible?
And if we’re not crying out for rain, at least the grass is! I've never seen it so brown and crisp.
Now don’t think over the last few days I haven’t thought about watering the grass – I have! It’s just that I’m just a little concerned that the neighbours will come down hard on me because of the idea of wasting water. I do tend to think about the climate and resources (can’t fault me for that, can you!)
And yes, the weather isn’t doing our hair any favours, no favours at all.
It wouldn’t surprise me if there weren’t oodles of people complaining that their hair and skin has taken a hefty sunshine beating.
There's no two ways about it, these really are extreme conditions we’re having so you really need to take care of your hair.
Here are 3 simple DIY things you can do:
1. If you've thinning hair, a sensitive scalp or just plain value your beautiful locks, don't use sun cream on your scalp - wear a hat. Sun cream will block, irritate or otherwise wreak havoc on your scalp and hair follicles. And if you wear neither hat nor sun cream, the sunburn is going to affect you. Always the hat.
2. Your hot scalp is going to be producing excessive scalp sebum and oils. These block pores and follicles leading to enhanced hair loss. Try a half a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in your hair shampoo and leave in for a couple of minutes to nourish and rejuvenate your scalp. Every 3 to 4 days is enough in these extreme temperatures.
3. Use Shea Butter or Jojoba as a scalp rejuvenator - these wonderful ingredients also double as effective UV blockers from the sun. Try adding a teaspoon of each to either your shampoo or conditioner and massage into you scalp. Leave in for a couple of minutes.
Did you hear the news today? My station said that the high temperature are set to last until the end of October! Wow! I mean unbelievable...
Please don't let the high temperatures let your hair down. Get your hair and scalp back in great shape by following these 3 simple tips.
When you’re out and about, take good care and enjoy a fabulous Summer.
Best wishes,
Guy
